Learn how to play the songs you love, or prepare for Royal Conservatory exams - or both!  Playing piano is about making music.  Lessons are 30 to 60 minutes in length, depending on the age and needs of the student, and include ear training (recognizing and singing or playing back melodies and rhythms).

Lessons are held either at my home in Southeast Burlington, or online.

Theory

Learn how to read and understand music. Basic theory begins with notes and rests, rhythms, key signatures, and more.  Intermediate theory includes chord progressions, harmony, and introductory analysis.  Advanced theory will introduce formal analysis, and introductory composition.

Composition

Composition lessons require an intermediate level of theory.  Write music using well constructed harmony and form.  Learn how to write for multiple instruments in ensemble settings as well as for piano.
